Having a polished resume and cover letter is essential. Feeling overwhelmed? Take a moment to relax, and let us guide you through the process.

We are dedicated to assisting students with their resumes as they transition from university to the professional world. This is your chance as a new graduate to showcase your abilities, passion, and expertise. We commend those who recognize the value of further education in propelling their future success.

An Interview-Winning Resume and Cover Letter

You will need a dynamic, interview-winning resume and cover letter encouraging them to read further. We have prepared many marketing documents for graduates, all tailor-made for their expertise. The cover letter must show your personality, so we write it as if you were talking to the reader. We show the reader what kind of employee you will be, which is why our documents get attention.

Prepare for the Interview

Even when you successfully get an interview, all the work you have done preparing and distributing your resume can be for nothing. It can all be lost in 20 minutes if you are unprepared for the interview. Some questions can be brutal. We conduct mock interviews with job seekers, asking many standard questions often put to students and recent graduates. This is an eye-opener for most job seekers.

Many clients have asked us, “They aren’t really going to ask me that, are they?” Guess what—95% of the time, they do.

They will typically ask you: “Why do you really want to work in this industry and this position?

Your interview preparation and research should become apparent here. Give one or two reasons why you’re interested in the industry or company and what specifically piqued your interest. What’s your most exciting personal experience with the company, its services, products, company reputation, or the job posting? The interviewer seeks something to prove you know what you’re getting into.

Understand the Ups and Downs of a Position

For example, people getting into police work often respond, “I truly enjoy helping people—it’s so rewarding.” This is about a candidate’s worst response and indicates a total misunderstanding of police work. Let the interviewer know you understand the position’s positive and negative aspects. A police officer deals with many people, but these encounters are not all “rosy.” There are challenging times, and the interviewer wants to know that you know this.

A better answer would be: “I have spent a lot of time thinking about my goals, researching, and determining what I am good at, and what I really want out of work, and I have decided that this industry and this profession would be best. I understand that being a police officer is not glamorous and that there will be difficult situations that I will have to deal with each day.”

This response shows that the job seeker has done some serious planning, narrowed their focus, and targeted direction. The answer shows an understanding of career planning and the ability to make carefully well-thought-out decisions.
