Tips for Creating a Resume for an Offshore Oilfield Job

Start with a basic resume that details your relevant experience and training. Second provide your contact information along with your name, address and phone number.

Write a professional summary section that will include the number of years you’ve been in the industry, your specialty, and the target job you desire.

Include five bullet points in your offshore oilfield resume summary that explain your area of expertise as well as the equipment you are capable of operating. Using technical terms related to the industry such as troubleshooting, operating bulldozers, production planning, and training technicians will be a bonus to your resume.

After your summary section, incorporate relevant work history. Include all positions you’ve had in the oil industry and jobs that helped prepare you to work in the oilfield. A great example is operating heavy equipment on a construction site.

Each position listed should have a title, the company name, the location, and the dates of employment. You may include a few bullet points under each post to explain your primary duties and responsibilities.

Certifications should go under “Education and Training” section. All the program dates and locations you have undertaken and completed should be included under this section. All copies of the testimonials should be attached as well.
